If your work cannot be shared immediately due to pending publication or a patent application, you may set an embargo for up to 2 years. Students must discuss and obtain prior approval from their supervisors by filling in the request form before placing an embargo in DR-NTU.
During the period of embargo, the full-text will not be available for viewing but the metadata, including abstract, is made publicly viewable. You may choose to redact your abstract, if necessary. Once the embargo ends, the full-text will be viewable and downloadable.
Embargo procedure for students
(a) Go to this link (or you can go to Student ServiceNow Portal > Request for Services > Library Services > Request for Embargo or Exemption of Thesis/FYP in DR-NTU).
(b) Fill in the request form and submit. Your supervisor will receive an email notification to approve/reject the request. Alert your supervisor to approve in ServiceNow.
(c) Once your supervisor approves the request, the Library will process your request within 3 working days. You can check the progress of your request at Student ServiceNow portal.
(d) Next, you need to deposit your work and set embargo in DR-NTU.
Follow the Deposit FYP/Theses Guide if applicable.
