Guestbooks allow you to collect data about who is downloading the files from your datasets. 

Guestbook' data can be downloaded as Excel file. 

You can use the default DR-NTU (Data) Guestbook or create your own. 

 

To use the default DR-NTU (Data) Guestbook:

  1. Go to your Dataset > Terms > Edit Terms Requirements
  2. Scroll down and select the DR-NTU (Data) Default Guestbook > Save Changes

 

Once someone has downloaded a file in a dataset where Guestbook is assigned, you can check the Guestbook:
Go to your Dataverse > Edit > Dataset Guestbooks > View Responses

 

To create your own Guestbook:

  1. Go to your Dataverse > Edit > Dataset guestbooks > create Dataset Guestbook
  2. Name the guestbook, and specify the information that you need from this Guestbook
  3. Click on 'Create Dataset Guestbook' button
  4. Go back to your Dataverse > Enable your custom Guestbook
  5. You then need to go to your Dataset > Terms > Edit Terms Requirements > Select your own Guestbook > Save Changes.

Once someone has downloaded a file in a dataset where Guestbook is assigned, you can check the Guestbook:
Go to your Dataverse > Edit > Dataset Guestbooks > View Responses
