Where you enter the website depends on whether you are using it as a personal profile link or citing it as a research output/work.
Option 1: Add as a Personal Link (Websites & Social Links)
If you want the website to permanently display on the left side of your ORCID profile, use the Websites section:
- Log in to your ORCID account at https://orcid.org/
- Scroll to the Websites & Social Links section on the left-hand side of your profile and click the pencil (edit) icon.
- Click + Add another link.
- Enter a Description (e.g., "My Project Website") and paste the URL.
- Set your preferred visibility and click Save changes
Option 2: Add as a Research Output / Work
If the website is a primary research output (such as an interactive database, a software tool, or an archive), you can add it to your Works section:
- Log in to your ORCID account at https://orcid.org/
- Scroll to the Works section and click + Add.
- Select Add work manually.
- Select the appropriate Work category (e.g., Creative> interactive resource, Creative > artistic output, orData & Process> data set).
- Key in the URL to paste the website link.
- Complete the remaining metadata citation fields, choose a visibility setting, and click Save changes.
