A-type materials are books that are pasted with the alphabet A on the books' spines.

These include pop-up books and books with additional visual aids etc.

They are located at the special section collections along the bound periodicals shelves and can be checked out from the library. Do take note that NTU borrowing privileges apply.

Please return these books at the Service Desk after borrowing, as the materials are delicate and may be damaged if returned via the Book Return chute.

You may return these books via the book deposit bin located outside ADM Library after borrowing. As the materials are delicate, please ensure that the pages in the A-type book are not damaged when closing it and sliding it into the book bin. You may do so by following the steps below:

1. Hold the book by the spine with one hand and the cover with the other hand.
2. Gently close the book by bringing the cover and back together.
3. Use your thumb to run along the top edge of the pages to make sure they are aligned.
4. Hold the book securely with both hands, one hand on the top and the other hand on the bottom.
5. Slide the book into the book bin slowly and carefully, making sure to keep it level and not to apply any pressure on the spine.
6. Once the book is in the book bin, let go of it gently, making sure it is properly supported by the other books in the bin.</p>

If you are unsure how to handle the materials, please do not hesitate to connect with a staff via Temi the Robot at the Service Desk for assistance
