Upgrade your NTU LibBookmark

NTU LibBookmark, a browser bookmarklet that provides seamless access to NTU Library subscriptions, has been upgraded (from RemoteXs to OpenAthens) on 18 May 2026 as part of our ongoing efforts to improve access to e-resources.

Important: 

1. Users are advised to update to the latest version of LibBookmark through the Full Text Tools LibGuide. This update supports our transition from RemoteXs to OpenAthens* which happened on 18 May 2026, and involved changes to access links on the Databases A-Z list and OneSearch.
2. The previous LibBookmark (or RemoteXs system) was retired effective 30 June 2026.
3. Links that include the RemoteXs proxy (e.g. https://www-sciencedirect-com.remotexs.ntu.edu.sg/science/article/pii/S0300957225003570) will no longer work. To access the resource, users will need to access the resource without the remotexs proxied links and login via the new LibBookmark (OpenAthens). Alternatively, users can refer to the Databases A-Z List or access from OneSearch.

 
*About OpenAthens
 
OpenAthens is a hybrid access solution that supports both Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)‑based authentication and proxy access.

For resources where the provider offers SAML authentication, you will not notice any change in the URL, as the connection is made directly between you and the website. e.g. The URL for www.sciencedirect.com will be unchanged even after authentication.

For resources where the provider does not offer SAML authentication, you will notice a different URL suffix, as access is routed through the OpenAthens proxy.

Before upgrade - RemoteXs suffix:

https://academic-bccresearch-com.remotexs.ntu.edu.sg

After upgrade - OpenAthens suffix:

https://academic-bccresearch-com.ap2.proxy.openathens.net
