As part of our continuing efforts to improve the library experience for the NTU Community, NTU Library will be conducting a seat booking trial (SEAT @ NTU Library) at the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (HSSL).
The seat booking trial is exclusive to NTU users only and will be conducted from 7 October to 6 December 2024* at the Humanities and Social Sciences Library (HSSL).
*Depending on user feedback (sign-in required), we may extend the dates of the trial and expand it to the other libraries.
How does it work?
Time limits: Users can book for up to 6 hours per day. You may do so in one booking or spread it across 3 active bookings, which can be for different seats.
Advance booking: Users can book up to 7 days in advance. For example, on a Monday, you can book a seat up to the next Monday.
No. of active bookings: Users can have a maximum of 3 active bookings.
How do I book a seat at HSSL?
Log in to the Booking System.
Choose your seat.
Click on the starting time of your booking.
Scroll down and select the end of your booking in a drop-down menu.
Click on Submit Times.
Check your inbox for the confirmation email with the Check In Code(s).
Check in using the code by 15 minutes after the Start Time to prevent an automatic cancellation of your booking.
Which seats can I book at HSSL?
The majority (74%) of seats at HSSL do not require booking and are free seating.
Users who prefer to secure a seat ahead of their visit to HSSL are able to choose from the following types of seats:
Study pod: SP1-SP4 (4 seats)
Window seat: WS01-WS10 (10 seats)
High table: HT1-HT4 (4 seats)
Computer room: CR1-CR5 (5 tables)
